External Lists

Overview

The Campaign-Ready Files feature in the Engagement Data Platform (EDP) allows you to import a file of recipients, and to then use that file as the data source for an Email Campaign in Cheetah Messaging. Campaign-Ready Files are assigned to an EDP asset called an External List.

Campaign-Ready Files aren't loaded to your main EDP database; instead, the files are loaded to a temporary database that's kept for three months, during which time you can continue to use them for Campaigns. After the retention period, the files are removed.

The Campaign-Ready File must contain Email Address, at a minimum. You can include other columns in the file that you need for Dynamic Content and / or Personalization.

Note: For more details on how to create an Email Campaign that uses a Campaign-Ready File as its data source, please see the Cheetah Messaging Online Help system.
