Trigger Type - Web Events

This Trigger type looks for recipients based on Web Event activity. To define the parameters for this Trigger option:

  1. On the Campaign details screen for an Event-triggered Campaign, click Edit > Automation > Add Trigger in the Tool Ribbon.

  2. From the Trigger drop-down menu, select "Web Event." A "Build Web Event Activity Criteria" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Define your Trigger criteria as described below.

  4. Click save criteria.

This Trigger type offers the following options:

 Trigger Option: Web Event Parameters

This option looks for records from campaigns with the selected Web Event  parameters values.

  1. Click the check mark next to "... with specific Parameters." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Web Event Params."

  2. Select the desired Web Event parameter.

  3. Select a mathematical operator (less than, greater than, etc.)

  4. Enter or select the desired parameter value.

  5. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Web Event Params" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... with specific Parameters."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Referring URL

The option will look for records from campaigns with web event activity from the selected URL.

  1. Click the check mark next to "... from a Referring URL." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Referring URL."

  2. Select the desired operator ("Equal to," "Not equal to," "Like," or "Not Like").

  3. Enter all or part of the URL. If using only a partial URL, you can utilize the percent sign ("%") as a wild card character.

  4. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Referring URL" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... from a Referring URL."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Web Event

This option looks for records from campaigns with the selected type of Web Event activity.

  1. Click the check mark next to "... as part of a specific Web Event." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Web Event."

  2. In the drop-down menu, select a Web Event type.

  3. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Web Event" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... as part of a specific Web Event."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Channel

This option lets you pick campaigns from a specific marketing channel.

  1. Click the check mark next to "... in a specific Channel." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Channel."

  2. In the drop-down menu, select a marketing channel.

  3. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Channel" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... in a specific Channel."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Folder

This option lets you pick a specific folder where a campaign (or campaigns) is located.  

  1. Click the check mark next to "... in a Folder." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Campaign Folder." Within the new tab, the system displays the Navigation Tree with the folder structure for the current system.

  2. Navigate to the desired folder or sub-folder, then click the folder name. The system displays this folder within the "Selected Folder" section on the right-hand side of the dialog box.

Note: You can select only one folder. If you click another folder, the system replaces the previous folder with the newly selected one.

  1. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Campaign Folder" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... in a Folder."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Tag

This option allows you to select campaigns that are marked with one or more "tags."

  1. Click the check mark next to "... with specific Tags." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Campaign Tags."

  2. Click on the "Add tag to filter" field. The system displays a pop-up menu of every tag utilized within the current system. Select a tag from this menu. The tag is added to the field. You can optionally select additional tags. To remove a tag from your search, click the "X" icon next to the tag value.

  3. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Campaign Tags" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... with specific Tags."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Cell Code

This option allows you pick a specific Cell Code.  

  1. Click the check mark next to "... in a specific Cell Code." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Cell Code."

  2. In the text field, begin typing. With each additional letter that you type, the system further refines the search, and displays the results in a drop-down menu. Select the desired Cell Code from this menu.

  3. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Cell Code" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... in a specific Cell Code."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Metadata

This option allows you to define a Metadata field and values (see Metadata Settings for more information on how to define Metadata fields and values).

  1. Click the check mark next to "... with specific Metadata values." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Metadata Values."

  2. Select the desired metadata field.

  3. Select a mathematical operator (less than, greater than, etc.)

  4. Enter or select the desired metadata value.

  5. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Metadata Values" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... with specific Metadata values."

 

 

 Trigger Option: Campaign

This option allows you to select one or more marketing campaigns.

  1. Click the check mark next to "... select which Campaigns." The system opens a new tab in the dialog box named "Campaigns." Within this new tab, the left-hand side of the dialog box shows the Navigation Tree, listing all of the folders in this system; the center section shows the Item Listing, which displays all the campaigns in the selected folder.

  2. Navigate to the folder where the campaign is stored. The Item Listing is refreshed to show the campaigns stored with that folder. Or, if you want to search across the entire system, click the double-left arrow icon near the top of the directory structure; the system collapses the directory structure. The Item Listing is refreshed to show every campaign in the system.  

  3. Optionally, you can search for a campaign using the following options:

  • To search based on a tag, click on the "Search by Tag" field. The system displays a pop-up menu of every tag utilized within the current system. Select a tag from this menu. The Item Listing is refreshed to display all campaigns in the selected folder tagged with this value. You can optionally select additional tags. Multiple tags are joined with an "OR" operator, meaning the system will display items that contain ANY of the selected tags. To remove a tag from your search, click the "X" icon next to the tag value.

  • To search based on the campaign name, begin typing in the "Search by Name" text box. With each additional letter that you type, the system further refines the search, and displays the results in the Item Listing. The system utilizes a "contains this text" search method, meaning that the system will search for your text string anywhere within the campaign name, not just at the beginning of the name. To delete your text string, click the "X" icon to the right of the "Search by Name" text box.

  1. Click on the campaign. The system adds this campaign to the "Selected Campaigns" list along the right-hand side of the dialog box.

  2. Optionally, repeat the above steps as needed to select additional campaigns to this activity criteria. Each additional campaign is added to the "Selected Campaigns" list..

  3. If you need to remove this Trigger criteria, either click the "X" icon within the "Campaigns" tab, or toggle off the check mark next to "... select which Campaigns."
