Upload Hosted Items

Engage+ allows you to upload and store various assets needed for your marketing efforts, such as images or style sheets. By hosting these assets within the Messaging platform, you can easily reference them when you build your Campaign content.

If you're uploading assets to be used with a specific item, such as a Campaign, or a Content Block, you can optionally create the item AND upload the assets at the same time (see the appropriate item-specific topic for more details on that process). This topic describes how to just upload a Hosted Item.

The platform supports the following file types:

You can upload one file at a time, or group multiple files together into a .zip file. The platform supports only. zip files, and not the .zipx format. If using a .zip file, any images must be located in a folder inside the zipped file, rather than at the "root" level of the .zip file.

The file names for all files (including the .zip file itself) can't contain any spaces, dashes, or special characters (underscores are allowed though). Also, the file extensions should be all lowercase.

To upload a Hosted Item:

  1. In the Tool Ribbon, click Upload. An Open File dialog box is displayed.

  2. Navigate to the desired file, and click open. If you select a .zip file, the system processes the .zip file, and displays its contents within a slide-out panel on the right-hand side of the screen. You can close this panel by clicking the close handle.

Note: If the name of the file you're uploading doesn't conform to the file naming conventions described above, then the file contents won't be identified and displayed correctly. In this situation, click Home > Clear > Clear All in the Tool Ribbon.  Rename the file and retry the upload process.

  1. Optionally, you can include additional files to upload. Click add files. Navigate to the desired file, then click open. Repeat this step as needed to select and upload additional files.

  2. The system will display all of the selected files within an asset named "Hosted Items." To pick the folder where you want to store these files, click the "Folder" field. The "Pick a Folder" pop-up window is displayed. Select a folder or sub-folder, then click select folder. If you need to create a new folder, right-click on the parent folder, then select "New Folder" from the contextual menu. Enter a name for the new folder.

  3. Optionally, if you want to exclude any files from the upload process, click the delete icon next to the file name.

  4. When ready, click save all. The system completes the upload process. A "Success" pop-up window is displayed, listing all of the Hosted Items you uploaded, along with their URLs. Click close.

Note: If you attempt to import a file that has the same name as an existing file in the destination folder, the platform displays an error message, instructing you to either change the filename, or to select a different destination folder.

After you upload an asset, you can view it from the Hosted Items screen.
