The New Item screen allows you to define multiple items, of the same type or of differing types, then create them all at the same time.
This topic describes how to create a new Dynamic Block through the New Item screen. In addition, Dynamic Blocks can be created through the Dynamic Block screen, or defined though an API request (see Dynamic Block API for more details).
The campaign managers can upload a single Dynamic Content Uploader Spreadsheet via the Upload button in Create Items. This eliminates the need to create separate spreadsheets for each dynamic block within a mailing. Here you can upload one master sheet that efficiently assigns dynamic variables to all dynamic blocks, reducing setup times significantly to just a matter of minutes. This feature is particularly beneficial for mailings that heavily rely on dynamic content.
To create a new Dynamic Block from the New Item screen:
In the list of asset types, click "Dynamic Blocks." The system adds a Dynamic Block into the list of assets that are to be created. The default name of the Dynamic Block is "New Dynamic Block" followed by a counter.
To pick the folder where you want to store the new Dynamic Block, click the "Folder" field. The "Pick a Folder" pop-up window is displayed. Select a folder or sub-folder, then click select folder. If you need to create a new folder, right-click on the parent folder, then select "New Folder" from the contextual menu. Enter a name for the new folder.
In the "Name" field, enter a name for your new Dynamic Block. This name must be unique within the selected folder.
From the "Data Source" drop-down menu, select the source table for this Dynamic Block.
Note: You can never modify this source table after the Dynamic Block is created.
Optionally, define any other assets that you want to create at the same time. If you need to remove an asset that you've defined, click the remove button ("X" icon) next to the asset name within the list of assets to be created.
When finished, click Save All in the Tool Ribbon.
