Custom Object Details

Overview

The Custom Object Details screen provides detailed information about the selected Custom Object.

Access

To access the Custom Object Details screen, click on the desired item from the Custom Objects screen.

Navigation links are provided near the top of the Custom Object Details screen:

The Custom Object screen is organized into different sections available by clicking the appropriate tab.

The basic properties for the Custom Object are displayed at the top of the screen in the Header section. The features available within this section are described below.

 View or Edit Custom Object Properties

To edit the properties of the selected Custom Object:

  1. In the top section of the Custom Object Details screen, click the Edit icon. The "Edit Custom Object" pop-up window is displayed.

  2. Make any necessary changes to the Custom Object properties. 

  3. Click save.

 

 Delete a Custom Object

To delete the selected Custom Object:

  1. In the Header section of the Custom Object Details screen, click the Edit icon. The "Edit Custom Object" pop-up window is displayed.

  2. Click delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  3. Click confirm.  

Note: After you delete a Custom Object, you should re-deploy Custom Object metadata; see Custom Objects for more details on this process.

 

 Set Status and Effectivity Period

To set the status and effectivity of a Custom Object:

  1. In the top-right section of the Custom Object Details screen, click the Edit icon. The "Edit Custom Object" pop-up window is displayed.

  2. The Custom Object status is used to specify when a Custom Object is actively in use. From the "Status" drop-down menu, select the desired status value -- Draft, Published, or Archive.

  3. Make any necessary changes to the Custom Object's effectivity. Valid values are:

  • Always: This Custom Object doesn't expire.

  • Scheduled: Enter a start date and end date, and select a time zone. Optionally, check "Recurring" to use a recurring schedule. Select the desired schedule from the "Recurring Schedule" drop-down menu, or define a new recurring schedule (see below for details on that process).

  1. Click save.  

Define a New Recurring ScheduleDefine a New Recurring Schedule

To define a new recurring schedule for the effectivity period:

  1. From the "Recurring Schedule" drop-down menu, select "Enter Schedule." The "Repeat" pop-up window is displayed.

  2. From the "Frequency" drop-down menu, select a recurrence frequency -- Weekly or Monthly.

  3. In the text field, enter the interval.

  4. For a Weekly frequency, select one or more days of the week. For example, "Tuesdays and Thursdays."

  5. For a Monthly frequency, choose one of the following options:

  • Day of month: Select one or more days of the month. For example, "the 15th and the 30th."

  • Day of week: Select one or more days of the week, for each of the four weeks within a month. For example: "the second Wednesday of the month."

  1. Click ok. The system adds the new schedule to the "Recurring Schedule" drop-down menu.
