Events

Overview

An Event in EDP is conceptually similar to an Activity in that it represents some action or behavior that the consumer takes, and that the platform is able to capture and track. An Event is essentially a lightweight, high-volume version of an Activity that's used mainly for reporting and auditing purposes.

The platforms tracks Event data for every consumer, resulting in an "Event stream" that serves as a historical archive of Event occurrences.

The Events screen allows you to define the filter parameters for the Events you want to view. The filter options are displayed within the panel along the right-hand side of the screen.

  1. The "Member ID" field allows you to filter the list of Events by consumer. Optionally, in the "Member ID" field, begin typing the name of the desired consumer (minimum of three characters). From the list of matches, select a consumer. Repeat this step as needed to select additional consumers.

  2. The "Event Type" field allows you to filter the list of Events by type. Optionally, click into the "Event Type" field, and select an Event Type from the drop-down menu. Repeat this step as needed to select additional Event Types.

  3. The "Campaign ID" allows you to filter the list of Events by Messaging Campaign. You must use the Campaign's "Running Campaign ID," which can be found at the top of the Campaign Details screen in Messaging, after the Campaign is launched. Optionally, in this field, enter one or more Camaign IDs, separated by commas.

  4. Optionally, from the "Period" drop-down menu, select a pre-defined date range, such as "Last 1 Month," for example. Or, select "Range," and pick the start date and end date.

  5. Click search. The search results are displayed. The search results show the Event date / time, Member ID, Event Type, source, and Campaign name.

Note: If you rerun the search, check refresh to update the results with refreshed data.

  1. Optionally, to view the full API payload for an Event record, click the plus-sign icon to the left of the record to expand it.
